In room 309 on the third floor, the shower drain was so slow that I had to stop the water and wait at least five minutes for it to drain enough that the floor wasn’t a puddle. The thermostat didn’t respond when I tried to turn on the AC, and the heat made it very hard to sleep. I stayed August 26-28. The next morning, I told the front desk I wanted a different room and a refund for that night. The woman said the manager was out of town but that she’d pass it along. She moved me to room 310, which was better, but one bed had a small stain and the warm sink faucet didn’t work. I called at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, September 1, after being told the manager would be available between 11 a.m. and noon. The same woman answered and said the manager was in a business meeting. I was very frustrated and told her this was absurd. She hung up on me. The rooms have problems, and they’re cheap enough not to return your money. Never stay here.

The so-called breakfast was a joke: stale cereal and scrambled eggs that weren’t fully cooked. The room problems were just as bad. In room 309, the shower left me standing in dirty water, then waiting over five minutes for it to drain enough to keep the bathroom from flooding. It was unbearably hot, and the thermostat did nothing when I tried to turn on the AC. I asked the front desk the next morning for a room change and a refund for the night. The woman said the manager was out of town and she’d pass along the message. Room 310 was a little better, but there was a visible stain on one bed, and the hot water tap at the bathroom sink didn’t work. When I called at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, September 1, after being told the manager would be in between 11 a.m. and noon, the same woman said the manager was in a business meeting. I was fed up and frustrated, and she hung up on me. The service felt unprofessional and nearly rude, and management seemed uninterested in fixing anything or standing behind the service. You’ll waste your money, deal with one problem after another, and be ignored when you ask for help. I’d stay anywhere else.

We picked this place because it was only a mile from Bells Beer Garden, where we were going to see a couple of bands. The area of town is dirty, with homeless people hanging around. Our room was very large and clean, and the bed was comfortable.

There was no heat in the room, and the thermostat wasn’t even connected. The wires were bare inside the wall. The beds were supposed to be two queens, but they felt more like twin beds and definitely weren’t suitable for two adults to share. Parking was terrible too. The lot is tiny, with nowhere near enough spaces for half the rooms, and the spaces at the back are so narrow we nearly hit a parked car trying to get out. We’ve stayed at many Comfort Inn hotels before, but after this experience we won’t stay with this chain again. This place had no comfort at all. If I could, I’d give it minus 50 stars.

I keep coming back when I’m in town to see friends or visit the downtown bars. The location works well for both, and the rooms I’ve had were clean, fully stocked, and fine for what I needed. I’ve noticed some damage left by previous visitors, but it hasn’t affected my stays. Check-in staff always greet me kindly, which isn’t something I get everywhere around town. Some of the women employees can be quite to the point, and once I was charged a little more than the Choice app quote when I asked to stay another night. They weren’t rude, though. The men have always been pleasant and kind, and I appreciate that.
