The beds were dirty too. We woke up covered in bits of dirt or ash or something. This was way beyond “you get what you pay for”; the place should just be demolished. Our non-smoking room reeked of smoke and weed, so badly I had to wash everything we owned to get the smell out. We had to dodge trash and children in the halls and stairwells, with cake and pizza still on the floor. The room was barely holding together: a broomstick propped up the bathroom counter, the mirror had graffiti, and the previously kicked-in door kept giving us trouble. When we were locked out, they had to pry it open. Someone kicked the door open in the middle of the night, and the chain lock was all that stopped it. Otherwise, we might have had a shootout. We also heard what seemed like drug deals in the hallway, maybe because it was too cold outside. This place was comically bad, even by my low standards.

We didn’t stay and went somewhere else after asking for our money back. The carpets and front lobby were dirty, and the desk clerk ignored me for five minutes while she was on a personal call. Of the rooms offered, the first was under construction, the second had no working heater, and the last hadn’t been cleaned. They had no other rooms available. It was awful. Don’t book here.

The staff were very friendly, but the condition of the place was terrible. We arrived after 7 p.m. and found dirty sheets bundled in the hallway with other items. The room door had clearly been kicked in before, and the security chain was bent. Bugs were crawling on the ceiling. Someone had left rock-hard breadsticks in the microwave and a tub of sour cream frozen in the fridge. The bathtub was broken and someone had tried to caulk the cracks. The sink was cracked too, and the bathroom door had a hole and a split at the bottom, held together with what looked like red electrical tape. Nothing seemed even in fair condition. Don’t go here.

I paid $170 for three nights through a third-party booking site and came in with low expectations. I still wasn’t prepared to find blood on the mattress, wall, and A.C. unit. I went to get my own cleaning supplies. Garbage was piled on the stair landings and in corners throughout the building. I can’t wait to see what the free breakfast brings.
