The overnight desk interaction was the one thing that brought my rating down. Between 5:30 and 6:00 am I passed the desk four times; the employee was on his phone the first few times and didn’t look up or acknowledge me. I understand overnight work can be hard, and I wasn’t expecting the evening or morning team’s energy, but a glance and a smile would have been enough. It matters for a front desk role. The rest of the staff were lovely: the woman who checked me in was kind and professional, and the young man at checkout was patient and understanding when I called about something I thought I’d left behind. Breakfast was good, and the attendant was helpful. The hotel is newer, very clean, quiet, and comfortable. I rested well before a hospital medical appointment, and I’m picky, plus I own a property. I’d stay again and recommend it.

The rooms are well equipped for longer stays, with a full kitchen, plenty of common space, good internet, friendly staff, and comfortable beds. Our room was large, noise wasn’t an issue, and the pool looked nice, though it has no hot tub. Traveling with our dogs was easy thanks to the grass and park area beside and behind the hotel. The location is on Kalispell’s northern edge for now, with businesses including the new Costco going up quickly. Parking was packed when we arrived. The larger lot behind the hotel had no access, so finding a spot wasn’t convenient. The shower had weak pressure even after I adjusted the showerhead, and the water never got hotter than warm. I only tried breakfast once, and the setup was chaotic. The food was in a separate room down the hall from reception, seating, and the store. Two people using the waffle makers at the start of the line blocked the plates and hot food, causing a queue that stretched down the hallway. I asked them to move while the waffles cooked, and things sped up a lot. The person in front of me thanked me for stepping in. Staff struggled to keep hot food and plates stocked. I also wondered if the item labeled oatmeal was actually grits. Someone else in line said she wasn’t sure but that it had been awful the day before. It was unlike any oatmeal or porridge I’ve had, and I’ve eaten it all my life. At another HOme2Suites with an open food counter, breakfast ran much more smoothly. A winter storm on our route home forced us to shorten the trip. We asked to check out early, but were told they couldn’t accommodate us. Years ago, a different Hilton brand hotel in Kalispell understood the same situation and didn’t charge us for leaving early. Here, the checkout bill showed three nights, but the emailed invoice charged for all four. There’s potential here. The rooms are nicely appointed, and with some work the things we didn’t like could improve.

The staff were easily the best part, everyone I met was so welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself is great too, with a gym, laundry, pet-friendly policy, spacious rooms, a fridge, plates and cups, and a good shower. The bed felt too soft for my preference, but was otherwise fine. My rating would have been five stars if someone hadn’t stolen items from our vehicle. That isn’t the hotel’s fault, but there are no cameras in the parking lot.

We felt like VIPs here, and the service was what stood out most. Nancy greeted us at check-in and helped find a room with a view that both the people and pups liked. Brennan was incredibly attentive, checking on guests, tidying the lobby, refreshing coffee, and taking care of details. Everyone we met, including housekeeping, maintenance, and management, was friendly. They even asked our kids whether the pool temperature felt comfortable. Our room was clean, roomy, and comfortable, with a huge window facing the mountains. Since we had a dog, being near the stairs made it easy to take them out. There were poop stations and treats at the desk. My husband took work calls and appreciated the big desk and slide-out keyboard table. We also had a large TV with apps and regular channels, plus a well-equipped kitchen with a big fridge, microwave, dishwasher, sink, and lots of storage. We stayed three nights and could easily have stayed a week. The kids spent plenty of time in the pool. It’s not huge, but was just right for them, and they had it to themselves each time. The room was toasty warm. There’s a patio with mountain views and two BBQs, plus another patio by the lobby breakfast area. The gym was lovely and had a Peloton. Laundry was easy to use through an app, which sent a notice when the wash was done; each load cost $2, and there were two washers and two dryers. Breakfast changed each day and was good. We liked the spinach pastry and breakfast sandwiches, while the kids went for the oatmeal station and Belgian waffles with toppings. There were booths and tables, and we used a booth and the counter by the front, where outlets and USB ports let the kids and me work or do schoolwork. WiFi was great. We spent a month in Montana and found this spot handy for shopping, Glacier National Park, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, and downtown Kalispell. Those places have restaurants and breweries if that’s your thing. Guests included construction and other workers, retired people, and families with young kids headed to Glacier. We hadn’t planned to visit the park, but went anyway. The drive was easy and beautiful, about 35-40 minutes, or longer if you take the scenic route through Whitefish. In October it was quiet in the towns and park, and the weather was fantastic. Thanks for taking such good care of us.

We’d never been to Kalispell before, and staying at Home2 Suites made the trip even better. Everything in the new hotel felt fresh and spotless. Our spacious room had what we needed, including a little kitchenette for making meals. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome right away. We’d definitely come back on another visit.
