The room was in rough shape, with thick dust, a limescale-covered shower, and an extremely loud, dirty air conditioner. We arrived at Aikens Lodge on 25/09/2025 to find a door notice saying reception had shut because of staffing shortages, so we were sent to the nearby Best Western Red Hills. The pool wasn't available, and breakfast for both properties was squeezed into one too-small dining area. We hadn't been told about any of these changes, even though our booking at Alkene Lodge included those facilities. The next day, we asked to move to Best Western or get our money back. We only got a refund for the unused nights after pushing firmly. A very disappointing stay.

I’m in Kanab for work a lot, and this has already become my first choice for a place to stay. The rooms are super clean, quiet, comfy, and cozy, with a great retro feel. There are plenty of amenities, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. It’s easy to walk to everything along Main Street, and dogs are welcome too. Nothing especially fancy, but I’d absolutely come back. I can’t recommend this cozy spot enough.

For about $70, this was a really nice deal. I stayed one night and liked it: the room and bathroom were clean, there were no bad smells, and the little bedside light was a nice touch. Everything was good for the price.

Our room was dusty, the shower had scale all over it, and the AC was filthy and very noisy. When we arrived at Aikens Lodge on 25/09/2025, a notice said reception was closed because of staffing issues, and we were directed to the Best Western Red Hills half a block away. The pool was closed, while breakfast for both hotels was crowded into one small dining room. We hadn't been told in advance, despite booking those amenities at Alkene Lodge. We asked the next day for a Best Western room or a refund, and only got a refund for the nights we didn't stay after insisting. Very disappointing.

Ryan was so friendly and accommodating, and went out of his way to make sure we had what we needed for a great stay and to explore town. The rooms were clean and super cute. A 10/10 place, check it out.
