Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kannapolis/Concord

This was our second year here, and we'll be done after this stay. Room 104 on 11/14 was filthy: makeup on the pillowcase, hair throughout the bed, and soap all over the tub. When I told the front desk, she didn't seem surprised, but offered our family another room. Room 211 was cleaner, though the bathroom ceiling behind the door was falling apart. We asked for a refund and customer service denied it, sending my wife a generic email saying they'd addressed it with the hotel. She wrote around 2pm today and got the reply only a few hours later, so we find that VERY hard to believe. Terrible.

The outside looked a little alarming, but I was happy with the room once I got in. For the price, it was wonderful. I'd pick Microtel again tonight if I had to.

There's a homeless camp right behind the hotel, and the bed feels like lying on springs. The lobby and hallways reek of weed. For some odd reason, a lot of Wyndham-owned places seem to smell like this.

The quiet area and secure feel helped me get a restful night's sleep, and the hotel was clean from the entrance to my room. It looks like the rooms were recently remodeled, and I liked the updates. The team was welcoming and professional throughout, and the staff worked well together. Trina in Housekeeping was especially kind and professional. After I overslept from sheer exhaustion, she and Yolanda were patient and understanding when I needed a late checkout. I enjoyed chatting with them as I left. I usually stay with Hilton Honors, but I've started using my Wyndham Rewards account to save money with the economy as it is. This stay exceeded my expectations, felt safe and comfortable, and was a great value. If I'm back in the area, I'll stay here again. Great job to everyone at this location!
