Wyndham Garden Katy

The air conditioning didn’t work at all, so the room was hot and uncomfortable. We also found no proper bathing towels, just large drying towels and medium ones. Showering with those felt uncomfortable and honestly unsanitary. When we arrived, the door was already open and a used towel was on the coffee table, which made us wonder whether the room had been cleaned. The cleanliness, missing towels, and broken AC made the stay really frustrating. I expected better basic standards.

No water, no towels as usual, and the pool hot tub didn’t work. The mini mart had literally five drinks. The room was set to 70 when we arrived, but after we left for three hours it was 82 in our rooms. The AC was out in both rooms, and the whole hallway was sweltering. They offered us a fan. The front desk lady kindly accepted our request for a refund, but they seemed aware of these problems. The elevator rattled and shook; when we told the desk, they said they knew and maintenance had gone for the day. There was no warning note, even though she agreed it was terrifying and said she used the stairs. I don’t blame the staff, I blame poor management.

Amira, the general manager, was fantastic. She was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about guests, going above and beyond to make sure everything was right. The staff were friendly and ready to help. My room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with especially cozy bedding. I also enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and the breakfast selection was very good. The fresh, lovely scent throughout the Wyndham Garden in Katy, Texas made a great first impression. I’d definitely recommend it and will be back!

The rooms and bathrooms were very spacious, but the staff and customer service felt unprofessional and unpleasant. Breakfast was included because we booked through Expedia, and it was supposed to run from 7 to 9 a.m. We came down at 8:40 and everything had already been packed away. They only then offered us small bowls of cereal, and my kids were very disappointed. This place could be a lot better with qualified staff who want to work and look the part at a hotel.
