Bestway Inn

My dad booked this for me after he worried I had too long a drive home from a wedding. I stayed in October 2025 and usually only bother reviewing places that are really good or really bad. This was surprisingly good, better than I expected. Check-in was easy even though I arrived very late, and the room was clean. The tub looked freshly refinished, with not a spot on it. Breakfast could use more protein, though. It was mostly bread, cereal, and waffles.

The pictures showed a lovely pool and a room with a hot tub, but when we arrived the pool was destroyed and nothing looked like the photos. The breakfast was nasty and the staff were rude. We left on the second day and didn't get a refund. This hotel sucked. Please don't stay here.

The room looked decent after its remodel, but $100 is the most I'd pay for it. The mattresses were among the worst I've had in hotels and motels across the U.S., with uneven spots and sinkholes. Breakfast was a basic old-school spread of bananas, muffins, and a waffle maker. There was no attendant and the food wasn't replenished. On both mornings, barely enough batter remained for one full waffle. This is an old-style motel with exterior doors. The floors were filthy: there's a huge knife beside the bed, and walking barefoot left our feet literally black. The room has fake wood flooring throughout, no carpet, and it felt like the floors had never been cleaned. The pool was permanently closed, but the website didn't say so.

The location was the only good part, and even that didn't help since I ended up driving home tired. We booked here mainly for the pool and the good reviews, but the manager told me it was closed when I called. The water was low, so I had hoped it might still be open. We'd only been there 15 minutes. The air was off when we checked in, in July in Texas. I understand not running it 24/7, but it should have been ready for guests. Even on the coolest setting with the fan high, it barely blew. We thought it might need time and headed toward the pool. The floor was dusty, too, and the inside safety lock was broken. I took pictures. I tried to cancel and go elsewhere rather than stay in a warm room without the pool, but they wouldn't work anything out. They said we'd already used the room and cancellation would cost almost as much as the room. We checked out after about 30 minutes. I usually read reviews instead of writing them, but the customer service alone would make me stay somewhere else. Maybe I just caught a bad day, but I don't know where the good reviews came from.
