Hampton Inn Kayenta

We were driving through when the weather changed, so we decided to stop for a couple of nights. Sierra welcomed us warmly and had us in a room quickly. Elija, who works security on site, has been really friendly and is doing a great job. The room is great too, and we'll remember this place for another trip.

The gift shop has reasonably priced things and artwork from the Navajo Nation, and the attached restaurant served great food with fantastic service. Try the indian fry bread. Our room was clean, and the hotel looked updated and well-kept for the most part. We stayed at Hampton Inn Kayenta on 8/30/25, and everyone was polite, kind, and accommodating. I'd stay here again if I pass through Kayenta.

Patricia was so friendly and chatted with us in both the shop and at breakfast. We were on our way back from Vegas and stopped here for a night, and really liked the place. Inside, there are wooden beams, plus a great gift shop and a restaurant with very good food. Outside, you can walk around and read about displays of Native American historic buildings and other things. We make this trip every year and plan to come back.

Kayenta itself didn't seem to have anything interesting to do, though it worked as a stop between Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon. Next time I'd probably choose The View at Monument valley. The room was a good size with decent amenities and a nice firm bed, though the supposedly large bath towels were a little small. Dinner was really tasty: black bean soup, a good burger, and a very good Navajo taco. We waited nearly an hour to be seated, then another hour for the food. They apologized and gave us free corn chips. The hotel and restaurant are nice, but the reception staff were fairly brusque, and the restaurant hostess wasn't especially friendly. Serving staff and the woman in the gift shop were lovely. Breakfast was self-serve and pretty uninspiring, with basic scrambled eggs, pastries, and cereal. The make-your-own-waffle station was a nice touch, but there was nothing gluten-free. You eat on paper plates with plastic utensils and have to clear your own table, which made breakfast feel more like a hostel than a hotel.
