The room was very nice and clean, and we enjoyed having a kitchen. The staff were nothing but kind. With animal allergies, this might be a great place to stay. But be careful about the pet fee: it was $75 for one night, and there’s no breakfast. I booked one non-refundable night through the IHG app, right off I-80. The listing said there would be a pet fee, which I understand, but most hotels charge around $25. I was shocked to find it was $75. It felt like a bait and switch. I understand the fee is meant to cover room cleaning and allergies, and that the same charge covers up to six nights with a dog. I also got an email about the cost, but by then I was locked into the stay. The fee basically doubled the price without my consent. I can afford it, luckily, but I worry about someone who might need that extra $50 for gas or breakfast for their kids.

We had to sleep on the floor because the pull-out bed was terrible, and the queen beds themselves weren’t comfortable either. The refrigerator clicked on and off all night and kept us awake. Room #221. Be aware that Priceline and Booking.com say breakfast is offered, but it isn’t.

There are lots of hotel and food choices in this area. Big thanks to Jason at the front desk for excellent service and great local suggestions for food and activities for kids. Keep up the great work, Jason and IHG staff!

There are plenty of places to stay. This one was the worst. We were stranded travelers who had lost our credit cards, so a family member tried to help in an emergency over video chat with her ID and credit card. Jason, the night attendant, refused payment because he said he wasn’t supposed to enter cards manually when they weren’t present. He claimed no hotel would allow it and sent us out into the cold. The much nicer hotel next door booked us right away without questions. Jason is in the wrong business. Candlewood could easily replace him and avoid situations like this.
