Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kearney by IHG

The fourth floor gets really warm, so keep the AC on rather than the heater. The AC is loud when the temperature is low, though road noise was okay. I was disappointed that housekeeping came in but left the bed unmade, just took the trash and replaced the towels I’d hung up. I’d have preferred a made bed and to reuse a towel. The fourth-floor hallway smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals and weed. There’s a grocery store across the street and the hotel is close to the freeway. It’s a newer place, so most things are still in great condition, and breakfast was perfect.

We stayed here on two separate nights and it was really nice both times. Super clean and smelled great. Breakfast was tasty, and we appreciated that they opened early. We’d stay again.

The front desk extended my time in the room, but housekeeping knocked while I was in a meeting. They hadn’t coordinated with the front desk to prevent that. The hotel looks quite modern, though my room smelled as if an air freshener had gone off, almost harsh to breathe. There were huge flies everywhere, and I think they were coming from the radiator. I hope my stay was an unusual experience.

The hotel was clean and the staff were great, but the elevator trouble made a good stay fall short of great. One elevator was out the whole time, which sometimes meant longer waits. On our last day both were out, and the fire department had to get people who were stuck inside out.
