We came to Kearney for the Sandhill Crane migration and enjoyed staying at New Victorian Inn and Suites. Kern welcomed us at the desk and was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and affordable, with a comfortable bed and a relaxing jacuzzi tub. The location was quiet, with lots of fast food places nearby. Breakfast was fine, though I was disappointed there were no eggs.

A short drive from the interstate, this is a good budget hotel with friendly service. The front desk was pleasant both when we called to book and when we arrived, and breakfast was good.

The AC and fan worked well, as did the microwave, fridge, and very large TV. Parking was easy, and there were a few grassy spots for walking the dog, with several fast food places close by. The bedding was clean, but the mattress pad had been put on vinyl-side up, so we had to remake the bed and it was uncomfortable to sleep on. The carpet was very dirty and clearly hadn’t been vacuumed, and the bathroom floor could have been mopped better.

The place itself was great, clean, and reasonably priced for a night. But the morning staff were loud, rude, and hateful, banging things around. I’m sitting here hearing it myself.

I managed to get a good night’s sleep before we had to hit the road, and the free breakfast was a help too. Kern got me checked in and into bed quickly after I explained my situation. He was accommodating and showed real compassion, the kind of employee I’d keep. He’s why I’ll come back to this location, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone bleary-eyed and needing sleep.
