Hampton Inn & Suites Keene

We had a quiet stay on the top floor in room 426, and the beds were comfortable, though the pillows lacked support. The room was clean and modern, with a roomy bathroom, lots of towels, plenty of hot water, zero % shower products, and lotion by the sink. Staff were friendly, and there's a large parking lot and an indoor pool. The central location has several food choices nearby and is seven minutes from the main city. My one suggestion is bigger trash bins, since these fill up fast. I'd stay again.

On several earlier visits, I appreciated the front desk service, but I often overlooked housekeeping problems. Staff would sometimes skip my room or say they hadn't made the beds because I had a personal blanket on them. This time, the situation was far more serious: my son was covered in bites, and I found what looked like an old bedbug nest, with bugs crawling in the mattress seams. It seemed to have been there for a while. The night staff member didn't know what bed bugs were, and the response felt mildly shocked but not urgent. We were offered little beyond a room change and went through three rooms on three floors before finding one without bugs. That still doesn't address what looked like an established infestation. Management should have caught it with basic inspections.

I like the location and usually find the place squared away, but they dropped the ball this stay. The front desk kept being left empty, with staff tucked away in back. I waited five minutes just to ask for towels, then hours later had to wait again to ask for them a second time. Didn't feel much hospitality this time.

We were just there for a night while traveling. The hotel was nice, but the cleaning-product smell in our room was so strong I wanted to switch rooms. Clean is good, but they need to use less, it was almost something you could taste.
