My first communal, hostel-style stay, and I had a great time. Jeff communicated well and was a lovely host. The vibe is relaxed and clothing-optional, the hot tub was great, and I enjoyed hanging out with the other guests and using the outdoor shower. We couldn’t make it to the nude beach down the road because of a rainstorm, but the place stayed wonderfully chill. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m on the island.

We spent a week here, and Jeff was such a friendly, accommodating host. The place has a beautiful, welcoming atmosphere and was one of the best hostels we’ve stayed in. If we come back to Hawaii, we’ll stay here again.

The house is lovely, and the host made us feel welcome and comfortable. Even the cat was friendly. It’s also an easy walk to the beach.

I stayed in the Sunshine Room for a week and found it comfortable and private. The hostel has self-check-in and a homey feel, with a well-equipped kitchen, living room, porch, lovely gardens, two bathrooms, an outdoor shower, and a wooden hot tub whose cover you can take off and put back after use. It’s a nudist and LGBT-friendly place about a 10-minute walk from a really striking nudist beach. There were often straight couples staying while I was there, and anyone who wanted to be nude still felt able to. Mondays are gay day at Kehena Beach, followed by a garden BBQ at the hostel that brings in the local LGBT community. The owners have created a great spot with a strong community feel.

Such a fun little hostel, and the setting is peaceful and very remote. The beach is just down the road. 10/10 for the location!
