The staff are friendly and available around the clock, and they suggested nearby hikes and places for good local food. There's also a small public park for kids within walking distance in the neighborhood. For a quick stop on a long road trip, our priority was a clean, safe place, and the remodeled room met that need. The bed was comfortable, the sheets soft, and the shower stayed hot. We paid about $120 including taxes, so keep in mind this is a no-frills hotel for tired travelers. Breakfast is basic, with yogurt, fruit, granola bars or bagels, plus coffee or juice, just enough to grab before getting back on the road. I'd recommend it if you need a clean, safe place just off the freeway.

For what we paid, the quality and location were very poor. The off-season rate especially felt like bad value. The updated hotel is old and sits about 100 feet from the highway, so expect a lot of road noise. There's no elevator, and you'll have to haul luggage up narrow stairs. That same week, we stayed at three other hotels within $20 of this one. One was a well-stocked cabin, and another was a three-star place near Glacier.

Easy to get on and off the interstate, and parking in back was simple. The room wasn't bad and was quiet. The fan was noisy and the ventilation poor, so I opened the windows and door to air it out. If I come back, I'll ask for that same room.

The front desk staff were courteous, friendly, professional, efficient, and helpful with local restaurant suggestions. Sam's diner next door is an easy walk and fantastic. There's plenty of parking for both small cars and large rigs, and the hotel is easy to find just off I-90. The king rooms face the freeway, while the double-queen rooms are on the other side. We've stayed in the king rooms both times, and with the window closed we couldn't hear the freeway at all. The rooms were very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Silver Inn is a great choice in Kellogg for one night or a longer stay, and we'll definitely stay again when we're passing through.
