Motel 6 Kelso - Mt. St. Helens

This was my third year visiting, but I was very disappointed and will look for somewhere else next time. The first room’s TV didn’t work, and after 20 minutes of the woman trying to fix it, I was moved. In the morning, I found the shower floor full of water and clogged, so no morning shower. Yuck! It’s a run-down motel, even though I saw several rooms being fixed up. Housekeeping should’ve caught that and shut the room down. I’d appreciate a partial refund, since this Motel 6 didn’t give the value I expected. Check everything before settling in.

For $70 a night, the service was good, the location wasn’t bad, and the small room was very clean. There’s no breakfast or real amenities beyond the room, though, and the bed was maybe a 4/10. I did sleep, but not much because it was so firm. I’d say it’s fine for one night alone or with a willing partner. I know of better hotels just down the street for only $25 more a night, so it’s a 3/5 for me, though it could be a 2/5 depending on the person.

The pool was a great place to relax and have fun while visiting. The hotel was excellent, but the service really stood out. Randle, a young man at the front desk, was incredibly kind and professional, helped me with every part of my stay, and made the atmosphere great. He couldn’t have been any better!

After a long night of driving with more road ahead, I wanted to stop and get a room. The night manager was nasty, mean, and rude for no reason. As soon as she let us in, she got rude about my partner not having ID. His had just been stolen, and he hadn’t received a replacement yet. She didn’t care and acted like we were trying to get her in trouble or something. If you work with the public, be professional and show some grace toward people who don’t know everything about your job. If you hate your job, find something you love instead of treating people like crap.
