Motel 6 Kenly, NC

The king bed was comfortable, the bedding was clean, and the heater kept the room warm and cozy. The front desk girl was friendly and welcoming when I checked in late. The microwave ran, but made unpleasant noises, and the broken toilet seat had apparently been “repaired” with one screw. That didn't really fix it. Pets stay without an extra fee, which I appreciated. Good price, and I'd stay again.

Just got a room here after about 17 years away, since I live in the area now. It's amazing! The rooms are huge and beautiful, no bugs, and the receptionist was so nice. Love it, love it, love it!

It's a budget motel in a handy spot near the interstate, with several places to eat nearby. The room was basic but clean. There was a small fridge, though no microwave or coffee maker, and they supplied just two bars of soap, no shampoo. The bed was okay, but the mattress was a bit thin.

On the night of February 8-9, 2026, I found a cockroach in my room at about 1 a.m. and reported it to the front desk right away. They didn't offer to move me. I stayed because it was the middle of the night and I had no reasonable alternatives. Management offered a partial refund the next morning. When I said I wasn't satisfied and would escalate the issue, the manager told me “there is no corporate.” I later found that wasn't true when I contacted Motel 6 Guest Relations. Even after I sent photos and documentation, both the property and corporate stood by the partial refund for what I consider a sanitation and habitability issue. I have photos and video of the pest. Guests should know what happened and decide for themselves whether to stay.
