The house was wonderfully quiet, and breakfast each morning was exceptional. In the Nathanial Lord Suite, the decor felt both stylish and cozy, and the accommodations really impressed us. Staff were attentive while still giving my husband and me room to enjoy our stay. We'd happily come back.

Our winter getaway packed a lot into 24 hours: we had a cocktail by the fireplace, relaxed by the one in our room, walked into town, and had an amazing dinner at Earth. We also browsed the basement boutique and finished with a great breakfast. It was such a cozy little escape for my husband and me.

That bed, pillows, and sheets were the most comfortable I've ever slept in. I had such a restful weekend. The staff took lovely care of us, and messaging them by text was an efficient way to communicate. For our babymoon, we had a private, dog-friendly suite, plus Maine popcorn and puppy popcorn as a gift. The breakfast was outstanding, and the water pressure and fireplace were great too. My husband and I couldn't have asked for a more special stay, and I can't wait to return.

We loved the house's ambiance, and the rooms were more comfortable than I expected for a place over 100 years old. The location was the best part for getting around: we walked everywhere, and Uber or Lyft was easy and inexpensive when we wanted a ride back after dinner. Breakfast is where the stay fell short for me. The bed part of this B&B was great, but the breakfast was a real disappointment. A made-to-order omelet or waffles would be easy and inexpensive, and would make guests feel special. The women serving in the kitchen had no personality, though they're the first people you meet each morning and should be engaging. We were in one of the other houses, not the main one, and had to walk over for a very light breakfast. It seems odd that no one brought fresh coffee and the basic breakfast items to that house. Improve breakfast and I'd give it five stars. It's a B&B, after all, not just a B.
