Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel

The Tavern was closed on Thursday, so I couldn’t take my husband there for his birthday, but the Lizard Bar/ grill tasted good too. We came for a surprise birthday trip, and it was both our first time there, on Thanksgiving. The atmosphere was nice, the staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was lovely and comfortable. We had a very chill time in the Casino 🎰 lol. Next time we’ll act like we know what we’re doing 😅

We’ve been here several times and haven’t had complaints about the clean, comfortable rooms, the good food, or the casino. It’s just the right size, with a nice variety of fun slots. My one issue is parking. There aren’t enough handicap spaces, and the first couple of rows by the entrance are reserved for valet. Waiting for them to retrieve your car can be a little slow.

I’ve stayed here many times and have usually enjoyed it, but the front desk has been inconsistent. Sometimes the staff are great and accommodating; other times, a clerk seems so caught up in their authority to grant or deny a request that they’d rather start an argument than help. I’m done arguing and explaining myself to people who appoint themselves in charge. This is a hotel desk, not the Pentagon. I know the job matters, but I don’t see the point of getting a kick out of saying, “Oh, I wish I could, but no.” What would it hurt anyone? I’ve been here plenty of times, and while I know con artists are out there, I’m not one. My history is right there on their handy-dandy computer, but still, no. This has happened several times, and it comes down to the desk clerk. Plenty of other times, they’ve said, “No problem.” The casino games were tight, very tight. Like gamblers everywhere, I kept putting money in because surely I’d get a bonus. Surely not. I’m totally embarrassed by how much I spent telling myself “surely” and “this is not possible.” It was unbelievable, but it happened. I accept full blame for losing the money. I should have admitted defeat much earlier.

I ended up giving two people $40 so they’d leave me alone. They claimed they had money in a machine, first saying there was more than $20 in it. I gave them $20, then asked how much was really left. The girl said about $40, so I handed over another $20. On the way home, I realized they probably didn’t have money in the machine at all. I wish I’d confronted them, but I was scared. I’d come here because Naskila was full of people. It had been three months since my last visit, and I’d been talking myself into going to Coushatta instead. This casino was closer, and I was too lazy to drive another 45 minutes, so I settled for it. I wish I hadn’t stopped. No wonder this casino doesn’t attract enough customers. I’m not coming back.
