We had Room 50 with a lake view and a large balcony, and it was very quiet. Self check-in was easy, the room was very clean, and there was coffee in the morning. Free kayaks and bicycles were a great extra. Nothing but good things to say.

I was excited to find Mabel’s House while planning my summer trip. It looked beautiful and relaxing, so I called right away to book. When I explained that I travel with a trained service animal, the receptionist replied, “we don’t allow pets.” I told her my dog is medically trained, needs to be with me at all times, and is not a pet, but she kept saying no pets were allowed. I don't want to force myself into a place where we're unwelcome, but I was very sad and disturbed by this discrimination, which is frankly illegal. I sincerely urge Mabel’s House to consider being more inclusive.

my friends and i kicked off summer in kennebunkport here last week, and it was so lovely. the inn is cute, the rooms were really clean, and the staff were sweet and attentive. breakfast came with fresh fruit and yummy muffins. they have bikes and canoes, so we biked into the town square to explore. i plan to come back later this summer 💗

The beach cruisers were a highlight for us. We love biking, and used them to explore town, the coastal road toward the Bush compound and beyond, and the surrounding neighborhoods. The property sits on a small lagoon, where Adirondack chairs were a lovely place to unwind after a day out. Mabel’s House is a great spot if you want to be a little away from the main town square but still within walking distance of everything. We were traveling from Washington DC and enjoyed our simple, tastefully updated room, with clean white linens, a comfy bed, and a recently renovated bathroom. Breakfast was a perfect start to the day: yogurt, banana bread, fresh fruit, and coffee. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a great visit and can't wait to return to Kennebunkport!

Edgewater has A/C and a TV in the room, which you can't get at the Colony. We had a corner room overlooking a pond, and the public beach was a three-minute walk across the street. Town was a pleasant ten-minute walk away. The staff were personable and cared about making sure we enjoyed ourselves. For us, Edgewater felt more like a high-end B&B, with a great chef in the kitchen. The daily rate includes a three-course “brunch,” with a wide selection of beautifully prepared entrees, French press coffee, and both sweet and savory options. The owners are foodies who want guests to enjoy the experience. It's a small, hands-on place with great food, rather than a big-box hotel. If that's what you're looking for, I highly recommend it. The Colony is 50 yards down the street.
