I’ve stayed at Day's Inn many times because Kennett is my hometown, and I’ve never had a bad experience. The linen has been fresh, the bathroom clean, and I’ve never seen any bugs, spiders, dragons, ghosts, or broken door locks. The woman who cleaned my room each morning did a great job, and after I explained I needed two towels, one for my hair and one to dry off, I had plenty for the rest of my stay. For a town where so much has moved away, even the local hospital, I think Kennett is lucky to still have a motel like Days Inn for visiting friends and family. Compared with many local businesses and some residential areas, it’s far cleaner than you might expect. The staff have always been eager to help me. If someone feels they’re getting poor service, maybe a little kindness toward the staff would help. Nasty, vindictive reviews only make it harder for a town that can’t afford to lose another local business.

We left after just one night of a planned four night stay when we found blood on the sheets in the morning and learned there was a bedbug infestation. The manager or owner blamed us. I was told I’d get a refund when I checked out, but three weeks later it still hadn’t arrived. When I called, the manager said he didn’t want my business. They never offered to cover the cost of replacing my luggage or getting my clothes professionally cleaned. I’ve never had worse customer service. The rates may look appealing, but I wouldn’t spend money here.

Dead bugs in the bathroom, something gross in the sink, no towels, and dirt collected in the room corners. We even found ice cream left in the fridge. The bathroom really needs updating and the cleanliness needs a lot of work. Wouldn’t recommend it.

The breakfast still wasn’t available 45 minutes after it was meant to start. There was no coffee or cereal, and the small lobby fridge, which I assume was meant for milk, juice, or cereal, was padlocked. There was nobody around to ask. I tried calling the front desk from my cell and found the cordless phone sitting on the counter instead of with whoever was meant to be on duty. We’d reserved a double room for two adults well in advance but had only one set of towels. The room was in rough shape: two of the three outlets didn’t work, one looked like it had recently shorted and caught fire, with soot still on it. The door was bent, tile cracked, shower head broken, and curtain torn. The desk clerk seemed not to care. Only the TV was plugged in, so we had to crawl under the furniture to find a working socket for a lamp. It also took nearly six hours for the mini fridge to get cold enough to use. There aren’t many other motels nearby, but the rates are ridiculous for what you get.

There were cobwebs, but aside from that the room was clean and a little old. They put us in a room with a broken toilet, then sent someone to fix it before we’d even told them it was broken, so they clearly already knew. I don’t think they get much traffic and probably only have a few rooms ready. It could’ve been worse. We stayed on my parents’ recommendation because apparently the other hotel doesn’t have coffee. Lol.
