Holiday Inn Express Annapolis East-Kent Island by IHG

The staff were friendly and professional, parking was free and easy in the hotel's own lot, and the room had a lovely water view. I especially liked the Dove shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. The included breakfast was the usual self-serve selection, and my room didn't have a microwave. It's quiet even though it's right off the expressway, and the price was fair for what I needed. There aren't any restaurants or stores within walking distance. Also, if you miss the driveway with the roadside sign, you wind up back on the highway.

The river view was pretty, and the room was clean. Breakfast was great, better than what I've had at most hotels. My one small gripe was the window covering: there was only a thin see-through curtain, and the blackout curtain wouldn't close, so it didn't block the light.

The room had a wonderful view, and the bed was so soft and fluffy I just sank into it and didn't want to get up. The front desk people were really nice and professional. We'll be back.

The front desk people I met were really nice, but the rooms were disappointing. I switched rooms after finding stained sheets, dirty towels, mold on the bathroom caulk, and what looked like a dried-up piece of Skittle on the couch. The second room at least had clean sheets and towels. The shower still had more mold, and the ceiling sheetrock looked even more beat up. It was just really disappointing.
