La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport

If you only need somewhere to sleep for less than 12 hours, this place may do the job, and it's hard to beat the price. We just needed a crash spot for 9 hours before our 8 am flight. The beds were clean and comfortable, the hosts welcoming, and the AC worked well. Breakfast was fine for a quick light bite, though I wouldn't call it good. Their longer-term parking was very cheap, and the free shuttle to and from the airport was great. I wouldn't choose to stay again, but if you're used to random roadside motels, it might be fine. The room felt old and cheaply built, and the age showed. Outside the toilet and shower room it was mostly just faded and shabby. That bathroom, or at least ours, was pretty bad: the showerhead was low, water pressure terrible, toilet loose, and a giant black mark on the shower wall looked like a tire track. The water wouldn't stay at one temperature, so my shower ended up lukewarm. That problem may have been limited to our room, since it seemed like something was wrong with the hot and cold water valves. I told the front desk, so hopefully it's fixed. I wouldn't recommend staying if you want a comfortable shower, also because all the toiletries smelled like my cat's flea medicine. The owners should find another supplier. Whenever I caught the conditioner smell in my hair, I felt sorry for my cat on flea medicine day.

The room was filthy, the TV didn’t work, and nobody helped even after I reported it several times. I went to the desk five times, asked to move rooms, and was told they didn’t have enough staff. Both beds had stained sheets, including blood on one, and there was moldy old cheese in the fridge. Breakfast was a mess too, with no bread or milk and only a few hard, stale muffins. Ronak Patel, the manager on duty, was useless and horribly rude. I’ve never been treated so badly by hotel staff. The place felt like a dirty, disgusting excuse for a hotel. I hope Wyndham does something about it and takes it off its options. With the bed bugs, cockroaches, stained sheets, and useless TVs, they might as well rename it Bates Motel. Ronak Patel should quit or make serious changes to the hotel and her nasty attitude. Worst place I’ve ever stayed, and I wouldn’t give it even one star. Think twice before booking here.

The staff were all lovely and very welcoming, and the airport shuttle was easy to use. The location was exactly what I wanted, just five minutes from the airport. Still, it felt much sketchier than the photos suggested. I was traveling alone as a woman and felt okay, but I took my bag with me every time I went out. The hotel is pretty run down and could use upgrades to make it more comfortable for travelers.

The location worked perfectly for me, close to the highway and what seemed like a safe area. There was no fridge or microwave in my room. Staff weren’t easy to reach, and it took three days to get a manager to talk to me and to have the TV fixed.
