My buddy introduced me to Two Rivers Motel & Cabins, and I’m glad he did. It’s a great central spot for sledding in the Yoop. The cabins did what we needed and were comfortable. I used to stay around South Range, which is a great area too, but from here there are good options in every direction. I met Tim but haven’t met Jen yet. Tim was great to talk to, and he seems like a hard worker. I heard he volunteers his time to smooth out the trails for us flat landers. There’s a rumor he likes to sleep late, LOL, though that’s unconfirmed. I’m looking forward to coming back in three weeks. Tim, if you’re wondering, I was the one stuck with Doug from 2/16 to 2/19.

The husband and wife who run the place were very nice. We stopped for one night while traveling and stayed in room #3. It’s simple, clean, comfortable, and pretty adorable, with comfortable beds and a good pillow.

The owners live on site and are friendly and helpful. Dogs are welcome, and there’s a good place to walk your pooch. These are older, rustic cabins, real northwoods accommodations, set among large white pines and back from a main road that isn’t too busy. We’ll be back.

Tim and Jenn are great hosts who treat you like family. They’re snowmobilers themselves, so they understand what riders need. I’ve stayed in every available cabin multiple times over the last couple of years and have no complaints. The place is right on the trail, with very easy access. Give them a try if you’re looking for a wonderful UP experience.

Tim and Jen went way above and beyond while we were there for just under a week. I’ve never had this kind of treatment, not even at a five-star resort, and I didn’t feel this at my Bahamas cruise this year either. Those personal, homey touches are hard to beat at a small business. This place feels like a little slice of heaven in the forest, surrounded by nature, with UP trail 8 right across the street. It’s peaceful, welcoming, comfortable, accommodating, and affordable. My boyfriend and I stayed in both the motel and cabins. The double-twin motel room was warm, clean, and cozy, with lots of natural light. The two windows made a nice cross breeze, and we didn’t hear neighbors, if we had any. The beds were firm but comfortable enough, and the fuzzy blankets felt like home. The small, college-dorm-sized fridge worked for our food, and the microwave did what it should. The bathroom was cozy, the water pressure was phenomenal, and the stand-up shower was plenty big for us. They even provide the good paper towels, the soft, cotton-like kind, not like copy paper. We stayed in cabins 1 and 7. Cabin 1 was the more modern one, and I liked its high breakfast-bar-style table. I’m over six feet tall and prefer things on the taller side. The newer-style couch added another modern touch. Cabin 7 had a propane fireplace, and its woodsy decor and furniture really gave it a cabin feel. Both cabins were clean, cozy, and comfortable, with great working kitchens. The stove, oven, microwave, and fridge all worked as they should. Each had a smaller smart TV, a queen bed in one room, and a twin-over-full bunk in the other. We only needed the queen bed. The heat in both was excellent after a long day on the trails. The Wi-Fi was awesome, and I had no trouble working remotely. Satellite TV was a little wonky, but hey, there was snow, so that’s expected and comes with the territory. We snowmobiled, grilled, and made great memories. We’ve saved the place for future vacations. It’s a solid 10/10 for a winter stay, and if you haven’t been here, you’re missing out. They’re dog-friendly too. Say hi to the two dogs on the property. Everyone’s welcome, unless a dog doesn’t like you. Thanks, Tim and Jen, for such a great hidden gem. I can’t wait to come back.
