Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Kerrville by IHG

A couple of days after staying here, I ended up with a horrible case of bed bugs. I called the hotel four or five times before anyone got back to me. They said they'd check the room, and when I called again a couple days later, they told me they'd done a quick check and found nothing. They promised 5,000 hotel points for my trouble, but those never came. If you don't want to get eaten by bed bugs, find a nicer hotel. Don't stay here.

What stayed with me most was how people at the hotel stepped up when my mom was stranded after a car accident. It was close to midnight, raining extremely hard, and she was in a ditch, crying on the phone with me until EMS arrived about 20 minutes later. Staff and some guests held my infant while I talked with her, helped keep her calm and talking, and made sure I wasn't alone. One staff member even stayed hours past her shift in case I needed anything. My mom's injuries were minor, and a state trooper brought her back to the hotel. Her car had to be towed to a wreck yard, but we're so thankful she survived. We were in town for a wedding my mom was attending, and had run out of diapers for my oldest overnight. The plan had been for her to pick some up on her way back, and neither of us knew storms were coming. With no car, I asked the front desk about delivery or somewhere in walking distance. Tish went out and bought us two packs with her own money, and wouldn't let me pay her back. Thank you to everyone for your kindness and generosity. The hotel and staff deserve 100 stars if I could give them. My mom, my two sons, and I are deeply grateful.

My main concern was the parking lot after dark. Several lights were out, which made me worry about safety and security. They should repair them all. Inside, our room was clean and comfortable, the staff were kind and friendly, and breakfast had a good selection.

We had a roomy suite with plenty of tables and lights, plus a great view of the pool. The beds were comfortable and the pillows fluffy. Parking was good, breakfast was complimentary and had nice options, and the hotel was very clean with great customer service. Highly recommend.
