Black Bear Inn

Nicole and Jim made our stay wonderful, and we’ll definitely be back. The property has everything you need to unwind, while still being close to all Ketchikan has to offer. The room and amenities were fantastic. We’ve traveled for years, and this place really stands out. Thanks again, Nicole and Jim, you’re amazing hosts.

We only had one night at this beautiful bed and breakfast Jim and Nicole built, and are still adding to. The red room was gorgeous and intimate, with such a lovely view that we ended up spending most of our time relaxing there. From the moment we arrived, this kind couple made us feel welcome. Nicole suggested Timbers restaurant and even booked our table. Their hard work and generosity let guests from all over enjoy this special place. We’ll be back for a longer stay next time.

The back yard is beautifully done and right on the ocean, with seals and eagles around the property. Jim was working hard on the grounds and making it a lovely place to spend time. Nicole knows the area well, suggested tours we really enjoyed, and pointed us to wildlife spots and hiking trails that suited us. We spent eight days at Black Bear Inn in the Eagle's nest apartment. It had one bedroom, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and partial ocean and mountain views. If the weather cooperated, we could catch a glimpse of the sunset. We had everything we needed for vacation, and Nicole left a lovely selection of tea, coffee, snacks, and even beer. She also had hats, an umbrella, binoculars, and a hiking stick ready for us. Everything was clean and very nicely decorated. Nicole and Jim were always available when we needed help. It’s a perfect place to get away, and there’s so much more to like than I can fit here.

There were plenty of lovely spots around the property to sit and relax, plus a hot tub overlooking the ocean. Jim and Nicole made us feel at home in their beautiful inn. The rooms were well appointed and the view was amazing. A truly wonderful stay at Black Bear Inn, highly recommend.
