Hampton Inn Key West FL

The shuttle made getting around easy, and our daytime driver was friendly, though I can't remember his name. At the desk, the attendants were polite and held our luggage until the room was ready. We had a spacious room with a patio where we could watch the morning sunrise. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the pool area is roomy, with a cute tiki bar. Dennis the bartender was personable, and happy hour was a nice touch. I'd recommend the property.

Breakfast was above average, and we had a great time at the hotel, especially around the pool. There were some housekeeping problems, including with the baby crib and the room cleaning. The city shuttle is small and books up fast.

The staff really made this place stand out. The front desk ladies were great with my questions and concerns, and they called as soon as an overnight package for me arrived. We liked having shuttles to and from the airport and to Malory Square. The hotel is 10 minutes from the airport, and we stayed in pool view room 232, which also looked out toward the ocean. Our room was clean, the bed was soft, and the pool area was especially tidy. We ordered a Cuban Sandwich for a late lunch on our first day, and it was worth it. The breakfast buffet was the usual hotel spread, nothing outstanding, but it did the job. Great price for what you get. I highly recommend it.

The pool area was clean and felt safe, though the grounds seemed very dark to walk through at night. Our room smelled fresh and was clean when we arrived. There were bugs gathering around the outdoor light by our door, and some got inside when the light was on. Depending on the room, you might get a nice sunrise, a pool view, or no view at all. Planes flew low, but from our first-floor room they were muffled and didn't bother us. This Hampton Inn feels more like a motel, with outdoor entrances and separate buildings. To reach the main office, gym, or pool, you have to walk outside, so rain or bad weather could be inconvenient. Breakfast was the typical Hampton Inn buffet. The staff weren't very pleasant and made us feel uneasy, as though we'd asked for something extraordinary. We couldn't even get a "you're welcome" after saying thank you. I'd suggest buying a trolley pass. It stops nearby, lets you hop on and off all day, and the driver talks about the island's history. Hampton Inn also offers a ride downtown if you need one.
