Magnuson Grand Rushmore View

We ended up extending our stay at the newer RV park, where we stayed because of our length. The staff are kind and helpful, and although I use a cane, I can still get to most activities, shops, and places to eat. My only gripe is that we couldn't find a trash can anywhere. Still, that's no reason to skip the place. Mount Rushmore is just 60 feet from our RV, and the town and its people are beautiful. Highly recommend staying here.

The staff were friendly and helpful, even when I asked the usual tourist questions about where to go and what to eat. Their suggestions were great, and the lobby coffee machine makes surprisingly good coffee. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the place is conveniently located: you can see a side view of MOUNT RUSHMORE from the parking lot and some room balconies. It’s a comfortable, clean, affordable base for visiting Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse.

We had room 209, with two queen beds. It was older, but comfortable and a good price compared with other places. The room was clean and smelled clean, and the beds were comfy. There’s no breakfast, though the office coffee wasn’t bad. Mt Rushmore is visible right from the parking lot. We’d stay here again.

The location is the one good thing about this hotel. We only stayed two nights, but the room smelled moldy, the bathroom heater didn’t work, and the AC quit on our second night. At checkout, I asked to have a manager contact me about compensation. I had to call back several times over the next week before the manager finally said there had been no other complaints and nothing could be done. They seem not to care about reviews, since they know people will come to see Mount Rushmore even if their overpriced motel is shitty.
