Super 8 By Wyndham Keystone/Mt. Rushmore

The location was convenient, close to Mount Rushmore as well as places to eat and shop. The room was spacious and looked decent, and the staff were friendly. I wasn’t much of a fan of the grab-and-go breakfast.

The location is great, but the hotel feels worn out and noisy. The carpets throughout are tired and held down with duct tape, and the beds are extremely uncomfortable, like they’re very old. One had a deep dip in the middle and a hard, raised edge that can bruise you. I found that out myself. The toilets were tiny and low to the ground, like ones in a preschool. The TV was only 20 inches, so you’d need binoculars to see it. The room’s kitchen area looked good, but there weren’t any dishes or utensils in the cupboards.

The rooms were clean, but worn, and the hotel is old and dated. The grab-and-go breakfast was mostly gas station items in a paper bag, and there’s no pool. WiFi was decent. There’s no elevator for the three floors.

Good value for the price and a handy location in Keystone. There’s no breakfast, but laundry is available and you can walk to town in about 10 minutes. Grapes and Grinds, a fantastic coffee shop, is just across the street. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
