We stayed in unit 301 and wouldn’t recommend it for families with kids or teenagers. The building manager verbally assaulted one of our children over pool play, and the pool rules aren’t kid-friendly. We weren’t told the rooftop bbq area would be under renovation during our visit, so we couldn’t use it. We were directed to the parking lot bbq instead, then denied access just before 9:00 pm. The unit manager was fairly responsive, but the unit was in very poor shape: doors, windows, curtains, blinds, and the air conditioning unit were broken, badly damaged, or didn’t work, and everything felt dirty. Humidity had damaged the ensuite bathroom door so badly that I got stuck inside twice. The main bathroom toilet handle broke, leaving six of us sharing one toilet for a day. The kitchen sink faucet wasn’t secured and twisted around, letting grime and moisture collect underneath. There was no vacuum, just a broom and dustpan, which weren’t enough for the tile and grout floors. Laundry detergent wasn’t provided, even though it was supposed to be.
There weren’t any cleanings during our stay, but when we needed help in the unit, they came quickly.
The west-facing view over a great beach gives you sunsets all year, and the place is close to food and other things you need. For the view, it’s affordable compared with other options. The pool is good and meticulously maintained, and there’s also a top-level community area. Its communal double BBQ space is exceptional, always clean, and free to use, with a great view. Keep in mind that units vary: some are older and dated, while others are well kept and updated. To me, it’s the best deal on the island.
The owners were communicative, and the clean room had everything we needed. There was lots of balcony space for sorting and enjoying our beach things. I also appreciated having recycling by the elevators on our floor. Parking spaces are tight, and the elevator was slow and often crowded.
It was close to nice beaches, shops, and places to eat, but I wouldn’t stay here again. The bedroom at the front had no airflow, and the air conditioning didn’t reach it, so it stayed above 80 day and night. The balcony carpet was soaked for the whole week after the air conditioner, which seemed to have been shoved into the wall 20 years ago, leaked into a bucket that we had to empty every couple of hours. We didn’t notice until the carpet had flooded. Maintenance came, but then it leaked somewhere else all week. Most electrical sockets felt ready to crumble, and you had to jiggle plugs to get power. We got half a roll of toilet paper and no hand soap. The place felt like going back in time to my grandmother’s dim, dreary, yellow house, with old dusty lamps and ceiling fan wiring put outside the walls as an afterthought.
