Kihei Akahi C-513 - Ocean View and Full Remodel

A perfect spot for a budget family vacation: clean and comfortable, in the best location, with nice pool areas and lots of gorgeous garden space.

Our unit, C110, was great. We booked through Sunny Maui Vacations, and it had been updated, with working AC and a washer and dryer. The grounds were lovely and tidy, and the front desk staff member we dealt with was helpful and nice. The condos have different owners, so the rooms can vary a lot. Across the street there’s a small, pleasant beach that works well for families, and you can walk to most of Kihei from here. There are good grills for guests, and the pool was clean, though a little small. Its rules felt like a bit much. I’ve never seen a pool where toys and Marco Polo weren’t allowed. I didn’t see the second one. Parking was my main gripe. Our spot wasn’t close to the unit, and getting there meant walking through the garden. The lot was dim, and the space numbers were hard to make out.

Kam 2 is just down the street, with several other beaches nearby, and having a rental car made it easy to get around from Akahi. The property managers were responsive and helpful during our week there. We rented a unit that had just been renovated, so there weren’t any reviews yet. We may have been the first guests since the work was done.

We loved sitting on the lanai, watching whales and hearing the birds. It was peaceful, even with the busy S Kihei Rd location. Kam 2 beach is just across the road, with restaurants and gift shops close by. The grounds, hallways, and our unit were all very clean, and there are two pools.
