My recent stay at the Sunriser Inn was a real disappointment. The front desk hostess was rude and unwelcoming, and check-in took more than 10 minutes even though there were no other guests. Nobody explained the delay. The room was dirty and in poor shape, with visible grime and an unpleasant, mold-like smell. The bed and linens didn't seem sanitary, so I couldn't feel comfortable. The hotel didn't feel welcoming to guests either. I can't recommend it. The service and room cleanliness both need major improvement to meet basic hospitality standards.

We came with our family of four during a long road trip, around six o'clock. The place felt really shady. We asked for a non-smoking room but were given a smoker's room. When I went to sort it out, the woman at the desk claimed I hadn't asked for non-smoking, then reluctantly gave us another room. It still smelled of smoke, and we found several roaches in the bathroom. The sheets clearly hadn't been changed, and the old carpets had a musty smell. Expedia listed breakfast, but there was no sign of it anywhere.

We had car trouble in the next town over, where there wasn't a hotel, and needed to stay somewhere before getting the car fixed the next day. We chose this motel because it was right off the highway. I usually stick to places like Comfort Inn, but this one was very clean, even though I know it's only a two-star hotel or motel. They answered the phone and door at 2:30 in the morning, and let us stay an extra hour after checkout because I needed to deal with the car situation. It was a lifesaver for us, five stars all around.
