Candlewood Suites Killeen - Fort Hood Area by IHG

I was here for a month, and the rooms are standard Candlewood rooms, so I have no complaints about them. What made the stay a comfort was Gizelle. She's the best hotel employee I've encountered, and she gets problems handled ASAP. Even when I checked on something I'd reported and said it wasn't a big deal, she made sure it got priority attention. You can tell she really cares about looking after guests.

I was staying here and overheard the front desk woman cussing out other staff on the phone over a frying pan. If there's none available, tough luck, I guess, but guests aren't entitled to one because of their rank. Buy one if you travel so much. As an employee, aren't you representing your company? The manners were awful. Maybe train your staff better.

The place was very clean, the staff were awesome, and we really liked the amenities. They don't serve breakfast, but I'd gladly trade that for being able to wash my clothes. We had a great stay.

It's close to everything I go to or want to visit, and the mattresses are super comfortable, which matters a lot to me. The little kitchenette has what you need for a longer stay, and the ladies at the front desk are really sweet and welcoming. There's no breakfast here, but they gave me vouchers for another hotel. That's a bit inconvenient, though it's a nice option. I understand the vouchers may only be for military members. The gym is tiny, and I wish it had more space and equipment. Of the three or four washing machines, only one works, and the dryer leaves strange black stains on my white clothes. This was much better than I expected from reading the reviews.
