Hilton Garden Inn Killeen

The rooms were nice and clean, and there are some good restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was good, but you have to pay for it. The Wi-Fi wasn't as fast as I'd expected, and the bathroom mirror got really foggy because there was no fan. The pool is outdoors.

I stayed here from 12/1/17-12/2/2017 and won't be back. The outside looked unclean, and inside there was a moldy smell. In my room the bathroom wallpaper was peeling, the toilet didn't work, the floor creaked loudly, and the ceiling looked water damaged, like it might cave in. When I raised the issues downstairs, the manager yelled at me as if it were my fault and said that even though it was a Hilton hotel, it was a franchise and didn't have the same standards. She offered another room, but I was downgraded from two queen beds to two full beds. At least the toilet worked. The pool and hot tub were filthy. Whenever I went to the counter for help, I felt like she was laughing at me. Her attitude didn't seem professional for someone working at a Hilton front desk. I expect better from the front desk than that. Needless to say, I won't stay here again.

Things seemed fine at first: the room was clean and a decent size, and breakfast was great. But today I came back from work and found that someone had taken the change I'd left on my desk for the laundry room. The front desk guy gave it back, but it's the principle of it. Don't steal from people.

There were plenty of restaurants nearby, and Killeen was a good base for a day at Ft. Hood, plus a day trip to San Saba. Our room was well kept and quiet. We were on the top floor, facing the back. The made-to-order breakfast was a nice start to the day: the omelet was big and tasty, and the pastries and cereal were good too. Staff were friendly and helpful.
