Home2 Suites by Hilton Kingman

We had a great room, and John was awesome. I made a reservation while driving, got the dates wrong, and called in a panic. John was super helpful and gave great customer service. Breakfast the next morning, a little before 8, was disappointing. There was very little to choose from, and the food was cold. Cold sausage isn't great. The woman at the front desk with long light hair just stood there staring, seemingly through us. Eventually we realized she was looking at the TV. She didn't greet anyone or say anything.

This is by far the least well-managed Home2 I've stayed at. The shower was missing its curtain, and I didn't notice until late at night. It's hard to shower without making a major flood. The water never got hotter than lukewarm, though at least it wasn't completely cold, sarcasm intended. I asked where I could refill my water bottle in the lobby and was told to use the bathroom tap. By the way, there's a filtered water dispenser in the fitness center.

A decent value with a good location and useful amenities, but the hotel is worn down. It's still okay, though some of the advertised amenities aren't available.

People were nice, and that's about all I can say. For $129, or $190 after fees, I got a room that smelled like musky feet, sheets with hair all over that wasn't mine, a TV that didn't work, and breakfast that was supposed to run from 6 to 9 am but wasn't ready until 7. None of these is a huge deal by itself, but I don't want travel to be this much of a hassle. I'm never using this place again, and I don't recommend it. I drive across the country a lot and mostly stay at Marriott locations. More and more, I'm finding that these hotels are lowering their standards regularly.
