Hotel Kinsley

We paid extra for a Luxury King Suite at the Pearl street location, hoping to unwind in the tub after a long day walking and hiking. Instead, the tub didn't work: when we turned on the water, the knob meant to switch from the small shower head to the faucet popped out and sprayed water everywhere. The front desk apologized and suggested we use the gym shower downstairs, but maintenance had left for the day and all the rooms were booked. We were asked to mention it at checkout, which I did, but nothing came of it. I'm very disappointed there wasn't more effort to make it right. For over $500 a night, I expected better. I'll spend my money elsewhere next time.

We booked several rooms for my husband's birthday so friends and family could stay together and use the restaurant and bar. It was minus 15 degrees, so we didn't want to go out that night. On arrival, we were sent to a separate building with only rooms, no reception or amenities. That arrangement wasn't mentioned on the website or in the confirmation emails. When we complained, staff said it can happen with third-party bookings, but nobody had warned us beforehand. A manager was meant to call and never did. We paid full hotel rates for rooms cut off from the main property, with nothing beyond the rooms. A very disappointing experience.

Ralph cleared all the snow piled up in the lot, saving me nearly half an hour of freezing work on my car and making the parking area safe to drive through. The hotel was full of thoughtful help like that. During the blizzard, Elizabeth greeted us with such a warm smile, Greg kept us laughing, helped me avoid going out into the storm, and made sure we had a sumptuous breakfast. Simon looked after us around the clock with good meals and every amenity we needed. Everyone was kind and genuine, turning Snowmageddon into a five-star stay. We also loved sitting by the roaring fire in the vibey restaurant, beneath the striking George Harrison photo and its reminder that “All Things Must Pass.” When the storm finally passes, Hotel Kinsley is a lovely place to be. I'll be back in any weather.

The atmosphere at the Kinsley Hotel felt warm, stylish, and relaxing throughout my stay. Everyone I met was helpful, and Greg especially stood out. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly. It's clear he takes pride in his work. I had a fantastic visit and highly recommend the hotel. Say hi to Greg if you go!
