La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham St Louis Route 66

We liked the hot tub in the evening, and the room was spacious, excellent, and quiet overnight. The lobby was inviting, with big windows, a coffee bar, and a faux fireplace. Everything was clean and well cared for, and the staff were friendly and easy to chat with. Breakfast was a nice surprise: eggs, sausage patties, and waffles, plus cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, and rolls. The price was reasonable, and we’ll stay here again on a future trip through. We visited in early December.

The shower worked fine, and the rest of the hotel was excellent: good price, decor, cleanliness, courteous staff, and continental breakfast. What kept me from giving five stars was the bathroom sink, where the water pressure was far too low. I understand the concern about conserving water, but this flow was unreasonable. I was also surprised there were no shampoo, conditioner, or body wash dispensers in the shower. Most Wyndham Days Inn places I’ve stayed at on this and earlier trips had them, even though this hotel is nicer than Days Inn.

It was a nice, well-kept place, and I was satisfied apart from the shower. It was dangerously slippery, so non-slip stickers are really needed, and a handheld shower wand would be useful too. I usually stay at the Best Western down the street, but they haven’t been maintaining it well anymore.

The staff I dealt with were great, and service was awesome. My room was very clean and nice, and I enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I’d definitely come back if I need a room in this area again.
