The Inn Above Onion Creek

The grounds were peaceful and beautiful, and everyone enjoyed their rooms. I booked the whole property for a three-night company summit, and Kaitlin was fantastic to work with while arranging it. The setup matched my specifications, and the staff rolled with the last-minute changes I asked for. The chef did a great job, and the food was very good. A few things took patience: the wait staff isn’t used to serving a full restaurant all at once, so a large group should expect slower service. Since our meetings were in January, we used the enclosed pickleball pavilion. On one especially windy day, the plastic sheeting was noisy, though that was to be expected. We had a few other small service bumps, but worked through them. Sage Hill has a small but mighty crew, and I appreciated all they did for us while we were there. Thanks!

The room had plenty of space, and we had everything we needed right there. My husband and I came for a break from our five kids, hoping for some peace and downtime, and it was even better than we expected. The food was delicious, the views were amazing, and we watched the sunset over dinner each evening. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

We loved having enough space to feel private without being far from anything. Even for my pregnant wife in her second trimester, everything was walkable, and we never felt crowded. We rented a casita for our Babymoon and had a wonderful time getting away from the city into Hill Country’s countryside. At night, we warmed up in the heated pool, watched the stars, and even saw a herd of deer pass by. Dinner was good, with sunset views every evening, and the staff were excellent and very friendly. We also had an amazing, relaxing couples massage. A great spot for a peaceful getaway, especially a Babymoon.

I came to Sage Hill for a wedding, though I haven’t stayed at the inn. The wedding venue itself was stunning. It’s tucked deep in the prairie woods of Kyle, and there’s a trail behind the main building. The pool looks out over the prairie, with an overlook that’s especially gorgeous at sunset. There’s separate housing, plus a small building with an outdoor pickleball court and a patio with benches and a bar. The fireplace kept everyone warm. The wedding was held in the inn, a gorgeous little multistory building. It was clean and spacious while still feeling intimate and relaxing, with a breathtaking view. From a visitor’s perspective, I’d highly recommend it for a wedding. It has a modern take on Little House on the Prairie vibes.
