The hotel and rooms are super clean and beautifully decorated, and the staff are fantastic, friendly, engaging, and eager to please. The restaurant food was really good, and the chocolates were so good, worth every penny. My only issue was the timing: there's no coffee in the room, and the coffee lounge doesn't open until 6 am. The restaurant doesn't open until 7, so most days I missed breakfast. The lounge has muffins and pastries but nothing hot. If both the cafe and restaurant opened an hour earlier, staying here would be so much easier.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and well appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. The bar is currently being remodeled, but we had lunch and a light dinner at the restaurant. Abbey was outstanding as our server, personable and great at her job even while extremely busy. She took care of us again later for a light bite, along with Kyana, a super bartender. Everyone we met, from the front desk and valet to the manager who made us delicious hot chocolate, was friendly and helpful. Of course, we'll stay again.

We really liked how beautiful the room was, and even caught some of the Rotary lights from the window. The bed was comfortable and the temperature felt just right. The pillows, though, were awful, so hard they bothered us through the night. Still, it was a lovely room.

The restaurant was out of this world, and the staff were so nice, with a real family feel. I went for a business trip in November and stayed a few nights, but the Mississippi River setting and the care they’ve put into preserving its history as a chocolate factory made the hotel feel special. It’s one of the best stays I’ve had. Wish I’d found it earlier, and I’ll be back to spend more time.

We slept so peacefully on the fifth floor, with a river view and a soaker tub. The bed, sheets, and pillows were all top notch, and the staff were just as attentive as the room was well appointed. The Charmont brings grit and elegance together in a beautiful historic renovation. It’s a bit pricey, but gorgeous and comfortable.
