The email thanking me for the stay invited feedback, but the phone number it gave was 000-000-0000. That pretty much summed up the problems. It’s a newer property and the room was very nice, though I found food bits on the floor and clumps of dog hair or fiber in a corner. Breakfast was more miss than hit: the juice machine didn’t work, they ran out of cups, and there was no water in sight. The kitchen staff seemed overwhelmed. There was no bacon available, even though I saw a tray prepped in the kitchen that hadn’t made it into the oven. People were wandering around looking confused about what was going on. It’s worth a stay, but maybe wait until they’ve worked through these issues.

It’s a beautiful new hotel, and the ADA room had great services. The thermostat worked exactly as it should, and the automatic drapes worked too. A door hold in the ADA room would make getting in and out easier.

The clean beds were the one decent part, but the weak breakfast offset that. For more than $200 on a Tuesday, I got two queen beds on the fourth floor, no ice machine, an unclean bathroom, dust along the top of the closet/bathroom sliding door and at least one picture frame, plus broken and dirty furniture. There was pubic hair on the floor that looked like it had been left by a previous occupant. I reported the disgusting room conditions and asked for a refund. The staff member took my complaint without saying anything, and I left the lobby. A few minutes later, my sister was looking for an ice machine, which seemed to be locked up outside breakfast hours, and heard that same employee mocking me to another staff member loudly enough for other guests to hear. I was polite, didn’t make a scene, swear, or call anyone names. Check the cameras. A manager followed up and wanted pictures. When I told him about the employee’s behavior, he said, “That’s very concerning. I will have a conversation with the employee whom took the complaint.” I’m speechless. This is a HILTON offering?

I’m glad I gave Hampton Inn & Suites a try. I’d read a lot of reviews for La Grande’s hotels and thought there weren’t any good options, but their pet policy got me to stay, especially since I usually choose a Hilton property. The hotel officially opened in February of 2025, and everything felt first class, from the pristine parking lot and bright entry and front desk to the plentiful seating and tables on the first floor. Amy was personable and friendly, a credit to the Hilton brand. She checked us in quickly, answered several questions about the area, and helped again later when we needed something. The rooms were spacious, clean, and smelled fresh, as did the brand-new hallways. The mattresses, sheets, and pillows were very comfortable. The A/C can cool the room to almost arctic temperatures, exactly how I like it. The bathrooms have a small built-in night light, which matters to me: it’s bright enough to avoid stubbing my toe on a late-night bathroom trip without keeping me awake. I’m glad I didn’t listen to the poor reviews, since some people just aren’t happy unless they aren’t happy. I’d definitely stay again. Thanks, Amy!
