Best Western Plus La Mesa San Diego

It was calm and quiet, and the rooms were roomy and comfortable. The breakfast was a real highlight: lots of fresh choices, and the woman working there kept replacing the food so it stayed fresh. It felt almost like eating in a breakfast restaurant. The coffee was a nice bonus, too. Everyone at the front desk was kind, and the staff were sweet throughout our stay. The place was very clean. One of my best hotel experiences, and I’d definitely return. Thanks for the great service.

The freeway is close by, which is convenient, but the traffic noise kept this from being a quiet place to sleep. The building and rooms also look old. Renovation work seems to have been attempted, but there was chipped paint and areas that had been painted over poorly. Our room was very dusty when we arrived, even though housekeeping had serviced it after the first night. The lobby restroom stayed out of order and under repair for our whole visit. The ice machine on our floor didn’t work either. When a maintenance worker saw me trying it, he asked me to use another floor’s machine. I could have, but this one was only steps from my room. Breakfast was cut short for us, too. With at least 15 minutes left before it was due to close, several housekeeping staff came into the breakfast room and locked the door behind them, keeping other guests out. They talked and joked loudly as if they’d taken over the room for a break. We couldn’t finish eating and left.

The staff made my three-night stay enjoyable. Shahad, Martiza, Thad, Frankie, Carlos, Francis, and Esmeralda all deserve a shout-out, and thanks to Joseph for managing such a great team. My room was clean, the bed was really comfortable, and I had a fridge and microwave.

A lovely, peaceful spot close to everything in town. Come for a three-day getaway and relax as much as you like. Great in every way. 😁🌹
