Patuxent Inn

We're being told to leave because of our daughter's service animal. We informed the hotel at check-in and have been here for a couple of days, taking him outside many times to use the bathroom. But at 6:30 pm, they contacted us and said we had to pay $250 and check out first thing tomorrow. When we pointed out that there are several dogs on our floor, they said those were service animals. I'm posting this in case others with service animals are considering booking. I didn't think this was legal, but apparently it is. I can't really review the room itself, though several earlier reviews seem accurate about the rooms.

We only needed a bed at the halfway point of a long drive home, and it worked for that. For anything more, I'd keep looking. The cigarette smell was so strong that it kept me awake and made me cough all night. I occasionally smoke myself, so that gives you an idea how overpowering the old smoke in the walls and furniture was. Don't let the Tudor-style paint job fool you. To me, it felt like a trap-spot motel, like the other Motel 6, Econo Lodge, and Knights Inn along the highway. There's no elevator, the carpet was stained and crunchy, and the key card was unreliable. Anything beyond a stopover bed will leave you disappointed.

The TV only got Family Guy on Fox, and when I went down for help getting the HDMI cord to work, nobody helped. The room smelled like an old fart, and the hallways smelled of cigarettes. There's no elevator, just old stairs. This place should be shut down and replaced with a Popeyes. If you're looking for a hotel motel, come to patuxent inn.

If you only need a safe, budget-friendly place to sleep, this might do. The front desk women were nice both times I stayed. On my first visit, mold covered the whole inside of the shower curtain. I have asthma, so I couldn't use the bathroom. I told the desk and was promised a manager would call, but a couple of weeks went by and nobody did. I tried again and told the woman at the desk what had happened before. She said, "oh nooo," and then nothing. I saw two baby roaches. When I asked for an extra 10-15 minutes so I could wake and feed my daughter, who has sleep apnea and takes a long time to wake up, the woman said no because the housekeeper was already upstairs and ready to go. I couldn't see any housekeeper on our floor. I don't know who cleans, but there were strands of hair all inside our fridge.
