The Chateau at Lake La Quinta

The bed wasn’t bad, and the hotel has potential, but the room we got was an odd ADA unit that hadn’t been cleaned or maintained properly. There’s little attention to detail: the walls have lots of blemishes that need a touch-up, the furniture is scuffed, and some decorations are cracked. The manager should walk through the units. The pool was filthy, with no drink service or even a water station. The older gentleman at the front desk wasn’t welcoming either. Other guests were offered champagne, but we weren’t. Disappointing stay for a boutique hotel that looks so nice from outside.

We had maintenance problems, but the staff, especially the manager, Karla, responded right away and took great care of us. They were gracious and clearly care about their guests. It’s a charming hotel, with lovely decor and a fantastic patio by the lake.

Customer service really stood out. There was a used set of glasses in the refrigerator, and the staff dealt with it immediately, leaving complimentary chilled sparkling wine and glasses. Mistakes happen, and they handled this one so well. It’s a peaceful place to unwind in the warm weather, with the sound of the fountain in the lake. The room was spectacular, and the bathroom was very clean, though the floors could have been cleaned better. A hidden gem.

We stopped in for wine and a bite on a beautiful evening. Brittany was our server, and she was exceptional. Everyone was welcoming and hospitable, and the lakeside patio has unbeatable ambience. We’ll be back!
