Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Omaha Papillion

The hotel seems fine otherwise, with continental breakfast and some things within walking distance. But I prefer having a working hot tub. When I asked about the jets not working, the front desk clerk said that’s just how it is, so it was basically a hot bath. I’d choose the Courtyard Marriott in Bellevue instead.

The hotel personnel were great, and the hot breakfast was nice. They also put out bananas and cuties for guests during the day, which was a nice touch. The room itself was clean and average, with decent beds, but it was on the small side. The closet was quite small, there were only two clothing drawers, and the mini refrigerator was smaller than average. There was no in-room safe. Nothing majorly negative, and the customer service was friendly.

The kids were really upset when they found out the pool was closed. It had a maintenance issue and was waiting on a part, which meant tears and sadness. The stay was otherwise great: breakfast was great, and the front desk people were so sweet and kind.

The room had a couple of frustrating problems. We used pants hangers from the closet to clip the curtains shut and block the light, but neither of us got much sleep the first night. The shower doors are badly designed, too. Water runs off the glass onto the floor after every use, no matter how careful you are, and we used every towel we had mopping it up. The staff were absolutely wonderful, especially the night shift. They made us feel at home. Outstanding people.
