My Place Hotel - South Omaha/La Vista, NE

My mom's disabled, and the beds were so low that I had to lift her out whenever she needed to pee, which was about every half hour. That was the worst part of the stay. The accessible rooms also need a walk-in shower. They have the same lousy shower curtain as other hotels, and it doesn't work. The front desk staff were amazing, and the room looked clean. I even checked under the mattress covers and saw no sign of bugs. But unless they update things, I'm not coming back.

There isn't breakfast, but the lobby grab-and-go market has plenty of options, and Casey's, a large and really nice gas station, is right across the parking lot. Our room had a mini kitchenette, everything seemed new, and the beds were very comfortable. It was clean, reasonably priced, and a very nice hotel. We'd definitely stay again if we're in the area.

I booked on 8/27 and found it clean and modern, with plenty of places to eat nearby and lots within walking distance. Check-in went smoothly, and the attendants were friendly and helpful. The room was a pretty good value, so I'll come back. I'm always in different cities and towns for the road, and I post places that make the cut so I can refer back to them. Reviews help me do that too.

The front desk service was accommodating, and that's where my stars come from. The room itself was clean and spacious, but I wouldn't recommend this place to people traveling for work. I've stayed at plenty of extended-stay hotels, and having to pay for pots, pans, utensils, knives, and cutting boards seems ridiculous. Even cheaper hotels have at least some kind of complimentary breakfast, and it doesn't need to be much.
