Days Inn Lacey Olympia Area

The hotel staff sorted out a date problem with our app reservation and gave us great service. Their kindness is a big reason we’d stay again if we needed to. The room was a good size, with a king bed, small sofa and chair, desk and rolling chair, microwave, and mini fridge. The linens were clean, but there was only one bath towel and one hand towel. I’d expected two bath towels and a washcloth. We knew from reading online that the pool area had no towels, so we brought our own. The pool being open all night for adults was a nice perk, with minors allowed until 10pm. The chlorine smell was strong in some places.

I’ve never had such a bad hotel experience. We waited over 45minutes in the check-in line, and they couldn’t meet our requests, so we got a different room from the original one queen bed, non-smoking room we booked. The first room made me feel sick as soon as I walked in. The counters, tabletops, and fridge were sticky and streaked with other people’s mess. There was a large red stain on the sheets and a ball of hair under the second bed’s sheets. One light didn’t work, leaving half the room dark. The bathroom was just as bad, with hair on the floor, a filthy mirror, and a dirty sink. They refused a refund when I complained about the room. I cancelled the second night, but had to stay in another room that night. It smelled of smoke, and the bathroom floor was filthy and broken. The hotel and its customer service were both awful.

From outside it looked nice, but inside we found ants throughout the room. Police were at the hotel at least three times, and there were homeless people everywhere. The listed amenities weren’t accurate either: no hairdryer in the room, the heat and AC didn’t work properly, and there was no breakfast, not even coffee. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Nothing seemed to work. Both washers were out, along with almost every vending machine, the soda machine, and the ice machine. The front desk wasn’t friendly, and the cleaning staff left a dirty sponge in the sink, a cleaning towel on the floor, and fresh towels on top of the toilet. I was surprised by that. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it, and after this experience I may avoid Days Inn altogether. When we arrived, there were no towels and no towel rack because it was broken. Management never fixed it. I called the desk for towels and was told to come down and get them myself. I worried that if the elevator broke while I was in it, the manager would be too cheap to call for help.
