Lazy E Motor Inn

We got a cabin and it had plenty of space, a small kitchenette, and a nice deck overlooking the water. There are grills all over, plus a fire pit and steps down to the water. The location is great, especially for somewhere on the lake, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff were super friendly, and it was really quiet at night. Parking is very tight, which is the one complaint I had.

We paid a lot less than the nearby places and still had a lovely room, great views, and a helpful, polite front desk. This was my second visit, and I know I'll be back. Next time, we're booking a cabin. I missed seeing Inky this trip, though. He was off doing awesome cat stuff, so maybe I'll catch him next time.

We ended up upgrading our motel booking to a suite, and really enjoyed the stay. There’s a queen bed in the bedroom, plus a Murphy queen and a daybed in the living room, along with a small kitchenette. The balcony has chairs, but it was too cold for us to sit out there. You can walk down to the docks, and guests can use the BBQ area.

The room itself was neat and somewhat clean, though the couch was stained and old, and the spare blanket smelled awful. The rest of the place was a real letdown. The cabins, paths, docks, and beach looked run down, with trash piled up and trees and vines overgrown. The Tiki bar could be a nice gathering spot, but it was dirty and falling apart. It looked like the resort had been closed for years, and I wondered if they were shutting down or had given up on it. I’d checked the location, reviews, accommodations, and amenities before bringing my family for a weekend with friends nearby. The grounds and location could be great with some upkeep. Our friends rented a cute, well-kept, clean cottage down the street for the same price. The office was usually closed, and I didn’t see an employee after check-in. I felt embarrassed when our friends came to pick us up. My son was scared to stay, and we were uncomfortable the whole time. We work hard for our money, so this made for a very disappointing memory. I’ve never written about a bad stay before, but this one was far beyond disappointing. I hope they turn things around, because the area and location have a lot going for them.
