SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charleston Airport & Convention Center

Pat got us checked in quickly and was so kind. The room was spacious, the place was clean, and breakfast was great. Parking felt snug in my small truck, though I didn’t try the spots around back, which may be larger. I appreciated that the ladies’ restroom was prepared for women. We felt safe, had good amenities, and had a wonderful experience.

I’ve only stayed at Marriott and I’m a Platinum member, so this felt like a slap in the face. I booked two rooms for 3/8, with departure on 3/9, but the flight plans changed because of everything going on in the Middle East and the difficulty finding a suitable time for planes to take off. I never checked into either room. The hotel said its policy required me to pay full price for both, regardless of the situation, and offered no help finding new rooms. That made an already difficult situation harder. I’m upset that this Marriott location seemed to put money ahead of service members’ safety, especially when the change was out of my control.

SpringHill Suites is usually my first choice, though I booked this location at the last minute while on a road trip. The staff made the stay great. Antoine was kind and informative at check-in, and Margaret at breakfast was warm, attentive, and engaging with every family. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and there was a dedicated workspace. Having access to the gym was a plus. Outstanding service, all around. Thanks!

I booked the room through my Marriott app, but two different credit cards were charged, and I’m still waiting for the hotel to send me the paperwork. The staff were rude at check-in. After dinner, we came back to find no parking, so I had to leave the car on the street. I called to ask for a late checkout and was told no. The fridge was warm, and there was no way to adjust the room temperature. I wouldn’t recommend this place or stay here again.
