Motel 6 Waco, TX - Lacy Lakeview

Just a night's stay, and good value for the money. The place had recently been refurbished, so everything looked shiny and clean, and the front desk staff were really nice.

The one good thing: I only saw one roach, and there was a hungry cat I fed some loaded French fries. Somehow, all the diesel stayed in my truck too. I actually stayed three nights, though I wouldn't come back or recommend the place. I travel for work and have stayed in plenty of motels. I checked in because it was cheap and didn't expect much, but the desk help was incompetent. They swiped my card upside down several times, said something was wrong with it, then asked me to leave it with them while they sorted out their problem. That took about an hour. The next morning the cleaning woman knocked on my door for way too long and asked if I needed anything. I don't think she meant towels. The guy downstairs seemed clearly to be a drug dealer and a permanent resident. He got busy around 10-11 p.m., with mostly the same customers. My room had stains on the wall, and the door had been screwed back together, like it had been kicked in multiple times. There were what I'm pretty sure were repairs to bullet holes on the front of it. I'm a little rough around the edges, but this was too much.

The husband and wife who run this Motel 6 were so nice and accommodating, and the staff were incredibly helpful with anything we needed. We stayed a week while waiting for our new home to be inspected, and would happily choose this place again. They were upgrading the exterior and rooms while we were there, but it didn't bother us. It was quiet and comfortable, whether you're passing through or vacationing in Waco. I'd recommend this Motel 6 Lacy-Lakeview to anyone. If I could give ten stars, I would.

The managers treated us well and were helpful. Good hotel and good service. We'd definitely visit again.
