Paradise Shores Resort

I remember when the grass was mowed, the bar was open, the restaurant had amazing food, and the pool and hot tub were clean. These days the place looks like a horror film set, and the advertising is wrong: no pool, no bar, no restaurant, and the grass isn't cut. The photo of the outside lot is accurate, it's empty. Other bars around here say there's so much mold in the hotel it should be condemned.

The staff were very friendly, and we were glad we could bring our dog. The large property gave us a nice place to walk him around. The room was what I expected, but the price felt much too high for what it is. I understand they may need to charge that much to stay profitable, especially since it's the only option in the area. The 24-hour coffee machine wasn't working, but that wasn't a big deal. I'd stay again unless the rate went up any further.

We stayed one night for our anniversary and found it a pleasant visit. The owners were welcoming and accommodating, and the location on the lake was excellent value for the stay. There are lots of different things to check out on Lake Holcombe.

We got married here on Saturday, and it's a beautiful place. Ann & Tom were so friendly and helpful with everything. The location is perfect.
