Blue Moon Guest House and Saloon

I haven't stayed overnight or rented a room, just been to shows and had drinks. The acoustics are always awful to me, and the bathrooms are hot, smelly, and single-stall, with sinks outside. I stick to canned or bottled drinks since cocktails aren't really their thing. Still, it's an interesting place to check out.

The weekly jam session was brilliant, with local musicians joining in whenever they felt like it. We came for authentic music and found a friendly crowd of locals and travelers, great bar service and selection, and awesome Southern country music. I'd definitely recommend stopping in when you're in the area.

We had a wonderful time at open mic night, especially since it was my niece's first time playing live. It was great hearing all the musicians. There's not much seating, so expect to stand for a while. Otherwise, it's a fun spot to hang out, get a drink, and enjoy live music. Ms. Nancy is wonderful to talk to and get to know, and she's like the MC.

They have a nice little bar when they put on live music, which they do regularly, and the place seems really cool. Even when a band is playing, drivers and motorcyclists on nearby Johnston Street are often louder from the front of the property. Artmosphere is usually louder too. I appreciate how considerate they are of the neighborhood.
